Staff members at the Alexandria community hospital in St. Ann, have expressed concern for their safety.

This follows an incident on Saturday morning, that saw persons descending onto the property, reportedly seeking assistance, for someone who it’s alleged, was involved in a motor vehicle accident.

However, only emergency maternity cases are dealt with after 10 pm and all other cases are directed to the St Ann’s bay regional hospital.

Other services are offered between 8 am and 10 pm

It’s alleged that things got out of hand, when the persons did not get the assistance being sought.

Parish manager for the st. Ann health department Nadia Nunes says the hospital staff cannot confirm, that anyone was taken to the hospital for treatment.

It’s reported that persons later threatened, the staff at the maternity ward.

Ms. Nunes says the staff members are shaken up and are concerned about their safety.
