Transport Authority launches probe in incident involving employee at Corinaldi Primary

The Transport Authority has launched a probe into the altercation at the Corinaldi Primary school in St. James, involving an employee, with a view to lay disciplinary sanctions.

The employee, who is said to be a parent and the schools security guard were engaged in a fight on the compound, on Monday.

A video of the incident has gone viral online.

In a statement, the transport authority expressed regret and grave concern about the altercation.

It said an internal investigation has been launched into the incident.

The authority said it’s aware that the matter is also being probed by the police.

It said it’s awaiting the outcome of the internal investigation and will treat with the findings in accordance with its grievance procedures and disciplinary codes.

The authority said that it encourages all employees to resolve conflicts in a constructive and amicable manner.

It has expressed empathy with the teachers, parents and students who were exposed to the display of violence.

Classes at the school have been suspended for today and tomorrow, to facilitate meetings with teachers and parents.
