Several students in St Ann unable to sit exams due to road blocks

by April 12th, 2022

Several students who were scheduled to sit internal examinations at schools in Brown’s Town St Ann on Tuesday, were unable to do so, due to continued road blocks mounted for a second straight day, by upset transport operators.

Since the children were unable to get to school this morning, they were forced to return home.

Its not clear what contingency plan is in place for the missed examinations, however the possibility is that they could be rescheduled for when classes resume after the holiday break.

Principal of York Castle High School, Raymon Treasure, told Irie Fm news, that because face to face classes had to be cancelled, the school resorted to the online modality, for students who had regular classes.

He explained that the road blocks will have limited impact, as schools are scheduled to go on holiday break, on Thursday.

Other schools impacted by this morning’s protest include, Brown’s Town primary and High schools, St. Hilda’s Diocesan High and Fern Court High schools.
