A call is being made, for greater effort, in building better relationships between parents and staff, at academic institutions.
This in the wake of an altercation between a parent and a security guard, at the Corinaldi Primary school in St. James, on Monday.
Founder of Hear the Children‘s Cry, Betty Ann Blaine noted, that while the persons involved should be sanctioned for the violent action, sanctions will not address root problems.
Ms Blaine said parents need to be role models for how children should behave.
She said greater involvement in parent–teacher associations, will help foster better relationships between parents and school administration.
She is also calling for development training for parents and school staff.
