Minister of Transport Audley Shaw said the ministry will soon be implementing several new policies and interventions, in the transport sector.

Speaking at an anniversary celebration of 876 Taxi Service on Wednesday (April 13), Mr. Shaw said taxi operators will now undergo a new competence test, before they are given a licence.

He said road safety education will also be introduced in schools, and a new accident software system, will be installed, for use by all public sector drivers.

Mr. Shaw added that a reward system will be set up for drivers who display exemplary behavior on the roadways.

The minister is urging members of the public to report any illegal activity they observe, to the Transport Authority.
