PM urges vigilance despite dropping of DRMA protocols

by April 21st, 2022

Amidst concern over the dropping of the protocols under the Disaster Risk Management Act, Prime Minister Andrew Holness says Jamaicans must continue to exercise vigilance.

Mr. Holness notes that while many people had grown accustomed to the management of the pandemic using the DRMA, it had become increasingly difficult to use the act as a means of managing the pandemic.

He says the government continues to provide the necessary information about the Covid pandemic and citizens must be rational and behave responsibly.

The prime minister noted that institutions can do their own assessments and implement their own measures as necessary.

He said government continues to monitor the pandemic.

He was speaking at a groundbreaking event in Trelawny on Wednesday.
