An elderly man was pronounced dead after he collapsed while walking in Mandeville, Manchester, this morning (April 22).

Head of the Manchester Police Superintendent Lloyd Darby says the deceased has not yet been identified.

Reports from the police are that they received a call about the elderly man laying on the sidewalk some time after 8 a-m.

Upon the arrival of the police, he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
