Scotia customers in Port Antonio Portland will be temporarily accommodated at Neville Antonio Park today

Customers wishing to carry out urgent transactions at the Bank of Nova Scotia in Port Antonio, Portland are being accommodated at a temporary location at the Neville Antonio Park today (April 25).

 

This as the bank remains closed following an early morning explosion on Saturday.

Reports are that at about 4 AM, an explosion was heard at the bank along Harbour Street in the parish capital.

 

On investigation, police officers observed fire and smoke at the front of the building, which housed two automated teller machines (ATMs).

 

The Port Antonio Fire Department was contacted to extinguish the blaze.

 

Scotia’s Public Affairs and Communications Manager, Danielle Savory, told IRIE F-M news that despite the branch being closed, representatives have established an area close to the bank to assist customers.
