by April 25th, 2022

Residents of York Town in Clarendon took to the streets this morning (April 25) to protest the poor road conditions and dust nuisance.

The residents mounted roadblocks along the Foga to York Town main road, with hopes of getting the attention of the Government, with a view to effect change.

The residents lament that they have been dealing with the issue of poor roadways for far too long.

One resident, who operates a cook shop, explains that dust from the roadway is affecting his operations

Meantime, Councillor for the York Town Division, Uphell Purcell says motorists, who are forced to drive at an extremely slow pace on the roads, have become fearful of being targeted by robbers.

He adds that several requests have been made for road improvements to be made.
