Five persons were arrested in relation to the seizure of two firearms and several rounds of ammunition in two separate targeted operations, today (April 28).

The weapons were seized in St. Thomas and Westmoreland.

In the latest incident a 9 milli metre pistol containing 10 rounds of ammunition was seized in Bull Bay, St. Thomas.

Reports are that between 6 and 7 am, an operation was carried out and the gun and ammunition were found.

One man was arrested.

And over in Westmoreland, a Taurus Thunder 9mm pistol and 3 rounds of ammunition were seized during a predawn operation, in White House district.

Four persons were taken into custody in connection with the seizure.

Lawmen are renewing their appeal for members of the public to report illegal weapons to the police.
