Three persons killed in road crashes in the past 24 hours

Three persons were killed in two separate motor vehicle accidents in St. James and St. Andrew, in the past 24 hours.

Dead are 25-year-old Chef Tiana Dixon of Albion, St. James, 32-year-old Ackeem Gardener, a bartender of Sandy Bay Hanover, and 32-year-old Omar Hamilton, of Lawrence Tavern, in St. Andrew.

Dixon and Gardener were killed in the latest incident along the Providence Main road in St. James, this morning (April 29).

Reports are that, at about 12:05 am, Gardener was driving a Toyota Axio motor car, along the road way, when he lost control of the vehicle, which collided in a traffic light post.

Dixon was thrown from vehicle, while Gardener had to be cut from the motor car.

They were taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Meantime, Hamilton was killed in a crash, in Stony Hill, yesterday (April 28).

Reports are that at about 4:50 pm, he was driving his motorcycle towards Temple Hall, when he overtook a line of traffic, and collided with another vehicle.

He was thrown from the motor cycle.

Hamilton was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

143 persons have been killed on the nation’s roadways, since the start of the year.
