Jamaica’s positivity rate increases to 16 per cent; 7 more deaths recorded

The country’s Covid-19 positivity rate has increased to 16 per cent.

This as 116 new cases were recorded yesterday (April 28), pushing the tally to 129,978.

Of the new cases 68 are females and 48 are males.

They range in age from 25 days to 82 years.

St. Ann recorded the highest number of cases with 33, followed by St. James and Kingston and St. Andrew with 26 each.

Meantime, 7 additional deaths have been recorded.

The deaths occurred in September last year and January this year.

The deceased are 5 males and 2 females, ranging in age from 55 to 87 years.

They lived in St. James, Kingston and St. Andrew and Westmoreland.

Jamaica’s Covid-19 death toll is now 2,962.

19 persons are hospitalised with the virus, while 102 more persons have recovered.
