Over 460 murders recorded in Jamaica since the start of the year

Over 460 murders have been recorded in the country, since the start of the year.

According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force, 463 murders were recorded as at Tuesday April 26.

This is 5 more than the 458 recorded in the corresponding period last year.

St. James recorded the highest number of murders with 78 followed by Westmoreland with 48.

There was also an increase in break-ins, which went up by 15, from 283, to 298.

Meantime, there were declines in cases of rape and robbery.

Rapes declined by 33, down to 131, from 164.

While, robberies declined by 30, down to 286, from 316.
