Beenie Man set to make US return this summer

by April 30th, 2022

After being barred from American soil for more than a decade, Beenie Man is set to make his return to the United States this summer.

Music News understands that the King of the Dancehall is booked for the inaugural LETSGETFR.EE Carnival set to take place on August 20 and 21 at the Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens, New York.

According to LETSGETFR.EE official website, Beenie Man is slated to perform on August 21 along with Anderson .Paak, and Nigerian singer TEMS among others.

The festival that aims to be the largest diversity-focused, purpose-driven music experience in the United States will also feature the likes of Missy Elliott, Wiz Kid, Jhené Aiko, and Tiwa Savage, among others.

This event would mark Beenie Man’s return to the United States since his visa was revoked in 2010.

In 2020, following the epic Versus battle between Bounty Killer and Beenie Man, fellow Dancehall entertainer Shaggy, called on Prime Minister Andrew Holness to lobby for the two to be reissued US visas and work permits.

Meanwhile, efforts by Music News to get a comment from Beenie Man or his management team were futile.
