Canadian authorities are to hold discussions with the Jamaican government to address the high number of Jamaicans, who use the Farm Work Program to illegally immigrate to the country.
Labour Minister Karl Samuda says in recent times, the number of Jamaicans failing to return to the country, after being engaged in the program, has grown.
He is concerned that the issue could negatively impact the Overseas Employment Program.
Mr. Samuda urged members of parliament to ensure that the constituents they recommend are of reputable character and have good intentions.
