The Portland police have charged the security guard, held in relation to an explosion, at the Bank of Nova Scotia’s Port Antonio branch, last month.

Thirty-one-year-old Calvin Hill, of Pleasant Hill, was charged with arson, housebreaking, and creating public mischief.

Reports are that on April 23, the explosion, and subsequent fire, destroyed two Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and damaged sections of the bank’s building on Harbour Street, in Port Antonio.

Head of the Portland police division, Superintendent Kenneth Chin says more charges are expected to be laid against Hill, as the investigation progresses.
