Reggae Girls head coach Vin Blayne resigns

Vin Blayne has tendered his resignation as head coach of the Reggae Girls with immediate effect. 

Blayne who has been at the center of several accusations and allegations by  the reggae girls, who issued a signed a letter of disapproval of his coaching methods to the JFF, is all set to depart several weeks before the Reggae Girls play in the final round of the Concacaf Women’s Championship in Mexico. 

Speaking on Irie’s sports call-in show What’s The Score on the second of May, this was what Blayne said regarding his future with the programme.  

Meanwhile, despite the swirling accusations , Blayne, who led the girls to four unbeaten games in the Caribbean leg of the FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers, got the stamp of approval from the board of Directors of the Jamaica Football Federation. 

 

In a release on May 10 the JFF Board said it  accepted the recommendation of the JFF Technical and Development Committee to retain the Technical Staff of the Senior Women’s National team including head coach Vin Blayne. 

However, in its report, subsequent to an initial investigation into concerns expressed by team members, the committee cited

there was insufficient evidence to warrant any such change in personnel at this time.
