Covid-19 hospitalisations continue to rise

Jamaica’s Covid-19 hospitalisations continue to increase.

132 people are hospitalised with the virus.

Among them 5 are severely ill, 2 are critically ill and 35 are moderately ill.

6 more persons have died from the virus.

The deaths occurred in January, February and May this year.

The deceased are 2 females and 4 males, ranging in age from 53 to 95 years.

They lived in st. Catherine and Kingston and St. Andrew.

The Covid-19 death toll is now 3,055.

Two more coincidental deaths have been reported.

Meantime, 276 new cases have been recorded, pushing the tally to 136,589.

Of the new cases, 170 are females and 106 are males, they range in age from 1 day to 90 years.

The positivity rate is 23.9 per cent.

74 more people have recovered from the virus.
