President of the Jamaica Employers Federation David Wan has lamented that a very low CXC pass rate is contributing to many people being classified as outside the labour force.

This as many persons lack the basic requirement of at least 3 Caribbean Examination Council subjects, to be hired.

Mr Wan said the issue is one of many areas of labour market inefficiency, that needs to be addressed quickly.

He is calling on the education ministry to implement programmes that will increase the CXC pass rate from 50, to 90 percent.
