Number of people hospitalized with covid falls below 100

Jamaica’s COVID-19 hospitalizations have fallen below 100. The health ministry says hospitalizations have decreased from 114 to 97.

 

Of those hospitalized, 29 are moderately ill, 9 are severely ill and 3 are critically ill.

 

Meanwhile, 115 new COVID-19 cases were recorded yesterday. They consist of 73 females and 42 males, ranging in age from 92 days to 85 years.

 

Kingston and St. Andrew had the highest number of cases with 48, followed by St. Catherine with 33.

 

The positivity rate is down from 21%, to 20.4%.

 

One additional covid death was recorded yesterday.

 

The deceased is a 69-year-old male from Clarendon, who passed in September last year.
