The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) launched a probe into the fatal shooting of a man by the police in Waterhouse St. Andrew last evening.

Three others were also wounded.

The deceased has not been identified.

Speaking with IRIE FM news, Head of the St. Andrew South Division, Senior Superintendent Kirk Ricketts said sometime before 7 PM, armed men got into a confrontation, in which two men were shot and wounded.

SSP Ricketts noted that lawmen who were close by responded to the scene, where the gunmen engaged them in a shootout.

He explained that one of the gunmen was wounded, while another was fatally shot by the police.
