UPDATE: 4 passengers hospitalized following two-bus collision on Salem main road in St Ann yesterday still unstable

Chief Executive Officer of the St Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital, Dennis Morgan says the majority of the persons who were hospitalized following a two-bus collision on the Salem main road yesterday (July 24) are in stable condition.

 

Two people died in the accident that took place around 8:30 in the morning.

 

Dead are 39-year-old Kermit Grant of Browns Town, and 56-year-old Elizabeth Palmer of Mount Pleasant, Runaway Bay, both in St. Ann.

 

Speaking to IRIE FM news this morning, Mr Morgan said of the over 20 persons that were admitted to the hospital only 4 are unstable.

He said crisis mode was activated upon learning of the extent of the accident and that surgeries on the day had to be put off.

Mr. Morgan pleaded with motorists to be careful on the roads.
