Jamaica Chamber of Commerce expresses confidence in Health Ministry’s capacity to properly monitor monkeypox virus in Jamaica

The Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC) has expressed confidence in the Health and Wellness Ministry’s capacity to properly monitor the monkeypox virus in the country.

 

This, after two cases of the virus were confirmed in Jamaica.

 

Acting Regional Director of the Southern Regional HJealth Authority, Dr Bradley Edwards said the first monkeypox patient has fully recovered and has been officially released from a health facility.

 

He said the second patient remains under quarantine at home.

 

Speaking with IRIE FM news, JCC President, Ian Neita says with the introduction of COVID-19 in the country, the Health Ministry has demonstrated immense capacity to keep citizens informed.

 

Mr. Neita says he believes this capacity will be illustrated by the Ministry for the monkeypox virus.
