Prime Minister Andrew Holness has again issued a warning to holders of illegal firearms.

Speaking at Young Jamaica’s Area council 1 youth forum, on Saturday, Mr. Holness said too many people are in possession of illegal guns.

He said the government continues to work on the legislation governing firearms, and those caught with the weapons will face the consequences.

The prime minister said persons overseas who are involved in the illegal trade will also be targeted.
