A man and a toddler died in a house fire in Spanish Town, St Catherine on Friday.

Reports from the Spanish Town fire station are that they received a call about the fire shortly after 4 am.

Assistant Superintendent of the Spanish Town fire station Garnet Douse said after extinguishing the blaze, fire fighters found the remains of the man and toddler.

He said a third person who was inside the dwelling escaped the blaze.

The assistant superintendent said there are reports the house was fire bombed.
