Jamaica’s economy grew by 4.3 per cent in the July to September quarter of this year.

The Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) says the growth was spurred by improvements in the agriculture and tourism sectors.

Speaking at a PIOJ Quarterly Press Briefing this morning (November 23), the Institute’s Director General Dr. Wayne Henry said the removal of COVID-19 measures globally, and higher employment levels contributed to the growth.

Dr. Henry said the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector grew by some 15.4 percent.
