Chairman of the Education Transformation Oversight Committee, Dr. Adrian Stokes is reporting that progress has been made with the implementation of the recommendations under the 2021 Orlando Patterson ‘Reform of Education in Jamaica’ report.

The report highlighted several issues in Jamaica’s education system and made several recommendations surrounding its reorganization.

Providing an update on the implementation of the recommendations this morning (December 1), Dr. Stokes noted that the Ministry continues to implement some of the recommendations, and has hired a consultant – the Mona School of Business consulting arm- to finalize the implementation plan.

He noted that dialogue has been ongoing with the Ministry around changing the way things are done to ensure the more than 190 transformation recommendations are implemented in a sustainable manner.
