Five men were detained by police following the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition at the intersection of Spanish Town and West roads in Kingston 12 this morning (December 26).

Reports from the Denham Town police are that a motor vehicle with the five men aboard was stopped at a vehicular check point about 2:35 AM. The men were ordered to exit the vehicle.

Whilst exiting the vehicle, one Glock 9MM pistol with a magazine containing six 9MM cartridges fell from the car.

The men were taken into custody; however, their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.

The Denham Town Criminal Investigations branch is probing the incident.
