The St. Andrew Central police have arrested a man in relation to the assault of a woman in the vicinity of the St. Andrew parish court, on Wednesday.

A probe was launched into the matter, after a video of a man kicking a woman began circulating on social media.

Head of the division Senior Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth noted that the woman who was attacked had an assault claim against the man in court.

The man is her former companion and father of her child.

SSP Nesbeth said the alleged attacker is expected to be charged with assault, among other things.

The senior cop is again appealing to citizens with domestic disputes to seek help instead of resorting to violence, and attacking members of the vulnerable population.
