Six million pounds of plastics for recycling collected last year

Six million pounds of plastics for recycling were collected by Recycling Partners of Jamaica, RPJ, last year.

 

This is approximately 125 million plastic bottles.

 

Chairman of RPJ, Dr. Damien king commended Jamaicans for their effort to recycle.

 

He cited a recent study which revealed that about one third of the citizens surveyed recycle on a regular basis.

 

 

Nothing that just about 16 percent of the bottles used in Jamaica annually are recycled, Dr. King promised that the company will do better in 2023.

 

He said the company will be expanding its fleet and staff, getting new equipment and ramping up processing capacity.
