The opposition People’s National Party (PNP) is calling on Finance Minister, Dr. Nigel Clarke, to provide an update, on the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s involvement, in the probe, at fraud-hit Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL).

Dr. Clarke announced on January 23 that the government had sought the assistance of the US based FBI, in the SSL investigations.

However, speaking at a press conference on Friday, about the scope of assistance provided by the FBI, head of the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime investigations branch, Senior Superintendent Anthony McLaughlin said the local police, have been leading the investigations, into the fraud.

Considering this, Opposition Spokesman on Finance, Julian Robinson, has called for clarity, on whether, the FBI is involved in the investigation at SSL.
