A 48-hour curfew has been imposed in sections of union gardens in the St. Andrew South Police division.

It began at 6 last evening and will run until 6, tomorrow evening.

The curfew covers Brotherton and Oakland Drive, Waltham Park Road, 17 Lane, Ashenheim Road and Developmental Road.

During the curfew all persons within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless authorized by the ground commander.

The police say the aim of curfew is to apprehend criminals aligned to warring factions within the division and to seize illegal firearms, ammunition, and dangerous drugs.
