National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang said crucial policy and regulatory changes have been implemented to safeguard the assets of workers and small businesses and to ensure that cash management/transfer services operate efficiently and safely.

This, Dr Chang explained, followed a meeting with the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s High Command and representatives of the private security industry yesterday (May 2).

Among the changes, will be the specialized training of security guards, given the increased threat to their lives and duties.

The Minister is also to meet with representatives from the banking sector in the coming days to discuss additional remedies.
