by May 8th, 2023

President of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association, Lasonja Harrison has urged the Government not to turn a deaf ear to the compensation review issues and anomalies facing the nation’s teachers.

Speaking at the annual church service to kick off education week yesterday (May 7), Mrs Harrison said the issues must be fixed if the Government is at all concerned about the state of the country’s education sector.

Meantime, Mrs Harrison said the education sector is in need of divine intervention to address the myriad of challenges being faced.

Mrs Harrison said educators are contending with too much in a climate of de-motivation while urging them to be encouraged.
