With the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season set to officially begin next month, Jamaicans are being urged to always be prepared for a storm.

The advice comes from Director of the Meteorological Service, Evan Thompson.

Speaking at the National Natural Disaster Risk Financing Policy Public Consultation, put on by the Ministry of Finance yesterday (May 16), Mr. Thompson reiterated the importance of preparedness, given Jamaica’s vulnerability.
