At least one public transport group is calling on the Government to disclose whether or not a Russia-based taxi company is operating in Jamaica.

President of the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services (TODSS) Egerton Newman made the appeal following reports that a Russian company is offering transport services on the island.

Mr. Newman wants the Government to address the matter.

Noting that TODSS does not support Russia being a stakeholder in the local transport sector, Mr. Newman also wants the Companies Office of Jamaica to disclose if it is aware of the claims and can confirm them.
