Education Minister Fayval Williams has called on the Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) to bring specific wage issues affecting teachers to her Ministry.

Speaking at a press briefing at Jamaica House this morning (May 31) Mrs. Williams said although her Ministry respects the rights of teachers it cannot research generalities.

She noted that cases brought to the Ministry’s attention by the JTA’s President have been researched and a response given.

Mrs Williams gave several examples, where, on investigation, claims of salary discrepancies were not due to any fault of the Ministry.
