Firefighters are conducting investigations into a fire at a section of the Linstead Market, in St. Catherine, this morning.

Public Relations Officer for the Fire Brigade Emelio Ebanks said about 20 stalls were destroyed.

While the official cause of the fire is not yet known, Councillor for the Linstead Division, Herbert Garriques believes it‘s a case of arson.

Meantime, Local Government Minister Desmond Mckenzie described the setting of the fire at the Linstead Market as a cause for concern.
