People’s National Party caretaker for North East St Elizabeth, Zuleika Jess, has dismissed claims, that there was a major division in the constituency, prior to her victory on Sunday.

Miss Jess defeated Kern Spencer, to represent the People’s National Party, in the next general election.

She received 569 votes to Spencer’s 209.

Speaking after the victory, she said the claims about heavy division among PNP supporters, are false.

Miss Jess said despite the loss, Mr Spencer will always be welcomed.

In the meantime, she said her victory symbolizes the rise of young people in the PNP.
