The Government will be investing $2.5 billion to increase the number of teachers in stem education.

Finance Minister Dr Nigel Clarke has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Mico University for the provision of over 1,200 scholarships.

Speaking at the STEM scholarship programme launch this morning (June 29), Dr Clarke stressed that Jamaica’s development depends heavily upon the STEM sector.

The Finance Minister noted that the scholarships will cover all costs associated with the degree in Education, and graduates will be guaranteed jobs once they successfully complete their programs.
