Prime Minister Andrew Holness has signed a Memorandum of Understanding MOU with the  China State Construction Engineering Corporation CSCEC

for the development of a model for a new parliament at the National Heroes Circle in Kingston.

Mr. Holness says the intention is for the National Heroes Circle to be home to all government ministries.  He says the Urban Development Corporation will be the project managers for the initiative.

Mr. Holness adds that the UDC will  participate in the architectural designs, however the technical work will be carried out by the Chinese company under a public private partnership.

Mr. Holness says phase one of the projects will involve the development of the model for the building. This phase should last one year.
