Water levels near capacity at Mona and Hermitage facilities

by March 17th, 2017

Water levels at the Hermitage Dam and Mona Reservoir in ST Andrew are between ninety five and a hundred percent of capacity.

Public Relations Manager at the National Water Commission, Charles  Buchanan says there  is no  drought related issue,  with  regards to availability of supplies in the Kingston Metropolitan Area.

Mr. Buchanan says the high levels of rainfall received this year , compared to previous years  and the proper management of the reservoirs  have allowed the Commission to relax some of the restrictions placed on water supply.

Mr Buchanan points out that although there is a tremendous increase at the two major corporate area storage facilities  ,  there are some western parishes that are  facing challenges .
