by May 25th, 2017

The five wickets win for Bangladesh over New Zealand has seen the sub-continent team move to 6th place on the latest release of the MRF Tyres ICC One Day International Team Rankings.

Bangladesh with the victory move level with Sri Lanka on 93 points, but when the ratings are calculated beyond the decimal point, Bangladesh sit on 93.3 points compared to Sri Lanka’s 92.8.

This is the first time Bangladesh has been ranked ahead of three former world champions – Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and West Indies.

South Africa, meanwhile, lead the ODI Team Rankings with 122 points.

Australia are second (117) and India third (117) followed by New Zealand and England who close out the top 5 places.

The West Indies are 9th on 79 points and are now in danger of failing to earn one of 7 automatic spots at the 2019 ICC World Cup by the September 30 cut-off date.
