Dustin Brown to open French Open account against Gael Monfils

German- Jamaican tennis player Dustin brown…….having made the main draw, will face Frenchman Gael Monfils in the first round of the French open which gets underway on Sunday.

A win for brown over the 15th seeded Monfils would see him going on to face either Alexandre Muller or Thiago Monteiro.

Nine-time winner Rafael Nadal and defending champion Novak Djokovic meanwhile are on a semi-final collision course after landing in the same bracket.

The 4th seeded Nadal, who has lost just once on clay this season, takes on Benoit Paire, while Djokovic…..the second seed, will play sprain’s Marcel Granollers.

Struggling world number one Andy Murray in the meantime is down to meet Russian Andrey Kuznetsov and could also face 2015 champion Stan Wawrinka in the semi-finals.

The third-seeded Wawrinka……..will open against a yet to be decided qualifier.

In the women’s draw defending champion Garbine Muguruza will take on 2010 winner…..Italian Francesca Schiavone……..while world number one Angelique Kerber opens  against Ekaterina Makarova.

Several top names……including Roger Federer, Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova…..will not feature in this year’s tournament.
