Forget about the noise, protests and smoke……Arsene Wenger stays at Arsenal

There is a Jamaican proverb that says the higher monkey climb the more he is exposed, and amidst mounting pressure by some fans for him to resign arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has agreed a new deal which will keep him at the club for another two years.

Wenger is no proverbial monkey, but indeed he will have to fight to shake that ‘monkey of lack of support by Arsenal fans, who are disgruntled, irate and ready to ‘chant dung babylon one more time’.

The deal has extended Wenger’s 21-year reign at the club.

The long-serving Frenchman is like who Prince Buster said, “Yuh pick him up, yuh lick him dung , him bounce right back, what a hard man fi dead” . He met with club owner Stan Kroenke yesterday to discuss his future, with the decision then relayed to Directors at the club at a board meeting today.

It is understood that the club will make an official statement on Wenger’s new contract tomorrow. So Despite the protest and demonstrations, fly over with banners, and social media backlash Wenger will remain in his job. Given too that

Arsenal beat the Premier League Champions Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley on Saturday to lift the FA Cup for a club record 13th time – with Wenger victorious in the world’s oldest knockout tournament, triumphing for a record seventh time.

With around 40,000 season ticket holders the club will be closely monitoring the number of renewals after today’s news.
