Zambia and England progress in FIFA Under 20 World Cup

African champions Zambia came from behind to beat Germany 4-3 after extra-time to book a quarter-final spot in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in South Korea.

Zambia looked like they had the match won while 3-1 in the 89th minute but late goals from Suat Serdar and Jonas Arweiler ensured the game went to extra time.

However Shemmy Mayembe was the Zambian hero with a goal early in the second period of the added 30 minutes.

Zambia will now play France or Italy in the last eight on Monday.

Elsewhere on the day, England also reached the quarter-finals with a 2-1 win over Costa Rica. Everton striker Ademola Lookman fired England into a first-half lead before doubling the advantage after the break.

England will face either Mexico or Senegal on Monday, June 5.
