The West Indies Cricket Board assumes its new name today and will from now be known as Cricket West Indies.
This sees the West Indies board moving into its 91st year with the new name and new website as part of a comprehensive re-branding programme.
All representative teams will now be known as the ‘Windies.
The ‘Windies’ name has long been associated with the representative teams within international cricket and this new brand will be used on all team playing shirts along with the new website focused on providing all ‘Windies’ supporters more user-friendly information including live scores, team updates, videos and player information.
Cricket west indies president Dave Cameron says this is an important first step in the overall strategy of the board to work effectively
The new website Cricketwestindies.org and the new match centre Windiescricket.com will be launched ahead of the first T/20 International against Afghanistan tomorrow.
