The West Indies women’s cricket team is making the best of conditions in England as the squad continues its training camp ahead of the start of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Women’s World Cup to be staged from June 24 to July 23 in England.
However, the Caribbean side has been training indoors at the England & Wales Cricket Board’s national performance center yesterday, as steady showers throughout the day forced a postponement of a practice match against an England women’s eleven .
The match will be contested tomorrow instead.
The ‘windies’ women next travel to the English East midlands from the southern city of Southampton, where they are using the home of the Hampshire County Cricket club as their training base for a 17-day period before moving to the city of Leicester for the formal start of the women’s World Cup programme on June 24.
