Following a journey which began on April 5 at Buckingham Palace, the Queen’s Baton landed in Barbados yesterday evening.
Following a trip throughout Africa, the baton a symbol of peace, friendship and commonwealth unity is making Barbados its fifth stop in the Caribbean as part of a journey to 70 Commonwealth Nations that will last 388 days.
For 100 of those days, the baton will traverse Australia before the start of the Commonwealth Games in April 2018.
The Queen’s Baton is expected to arrive in Jamaica on July 5.
