FLA to take drastic measures against gun holders

by June 20th, 2017

The Firearm Licensing Authority (FLA) has announced that it will be taking drastic action against some licensed firearm holders as of July.

Chief Executive Officer, Shane Dalling says the FLA has issued a deadline for licensed firearm holders who have not taken in their firearms for yearly inspection, to do so immediately, or face prosecution.

He adds that the FLA has observed that there are a number of persons breaching the firearms act, by not paying the yearly license fees.

It is also a criminal offense for not having their guns inspected yearly.

Mr. Dalling says the offence carries a penalty of $200,000 or 12 months imprisonment.

The FLA CEO is urging persons to use this period from now until July 1, to regularize themselves.
